STIs are common. If you think you might have one, the most important
first step is getting tested. There are many health care providers
in BC who can help with these tests and provide you with treatment
and information. They can also help you deal with concerns related
to STIs, like how to tell a partner.
People are often reluctant to go straight to a doctor or health care worker when they have symptoms that they suspect might be due to a sexually transmitted disease or infection. Many prefer to ask for anonymous advice over the telephone.
