The more partners you have, the more at risk you are for STIs. Sex trade workers, usually, have many partners. They are at increased risk for STIs for several reasons. Sometimes, sex trade workers are convinced to have sex without a condom for more money. Some sex trade workers will use condoms with clients but not with primary partners or pimps. People in some types of sex trade, are often also injection drug users. Sex trade workers and their clients have been particularly affected by the continuing spyhilis epidemic in Vancouver.
