Dildoes come in a variety of shapes, widths, colors and sizes. If you use a dildo that is too big or not well lubed, it may cause irritations or small cuts which you want to avoid. Dildoes are used to penetrate vaginas, anuses and mouths. When using a dildo, always put on a new well lubricated condom - if switching between partners, from anal sex to vaginal sex and vice versa. Dildo penetration is sometimes complemented with lubed-up gloved hands and spare condoms.
Sex toys are designed for anal penetration too, and come in many shapes and sizes. These are known as buttplugs. To stay safe, you can carefully pull the condom completely over the flat base to cover the entire plug. If you are sharing buttplugs, clean in between use and change the condom for each partner. To reduce the risk of making small tears, make sure you use lots of lube.
If you use other creative toys like cucumbers, fruits, etc., make sure to cover them with condoms. Always use lube.
Vibrators also come in various sizes and shapes. You're best to carry your own vibrator and wash it before putting it away. If sharing, be sure an unlubed condom (for vibrators with AC cords) fits snugly over the vibrator and change the condom between each person. When cleaning vibrators after sex, make sure it is unplugged. Wipe down the vibrator with a wash cloth in bleach solution (one part bleach to 10 parts soapy water). If you are using a hand held vibrator with a rotating ball, remove the ball and immerse it in the 1/10 bleach solution.
